Year 7 Cyril Murray Cup

3rd Mar 2016

On Tuesday the Year 7 Soccer Team headed to Olympia Leisure Centre to play in the semi-final of the Cyril Murray Cup. It was a wet wet afternoon but we were determined to do our best. In the semi Final we played Holy Child and we won 2-0.

Next it was the final against Holy Cross. St Bride’s scored first and then Holy Cross equalised. It went to extra time and it ended in a draw!

We were joint winners of the Cyril Murray Cup. No one deserved to lose as both sides played so well.

We have the cup for two months and then we are going to send it to Holy Cross.

We want to thank Mr Fee and Mr Macaulay for all their hard work with us.

Thank you also to Elizabeth Bryson for organising the competition and for leaving the gold medals into the school.

And we must remember a big thank-you also to our supporters club, our mums, brothers, sisters & uncles, who could be heard shouting pitch side!

Three cheers for St. Bride’s.
