Today during Literacy the Yellow group worked with Mrs Diamond. They looked at things you need for a party and decided how many syllables there were in each word. Syllables are chunks of sound. Igor knew that candle has two syllables. Han knew that sweet has one syllable. Sarah A and Divsha had three syllable words. Andy had a four syllable word IN-VI-TA-TION! Hannah and Olivier knew that balloon and present have two syllables. Look around your house and count the syllables in words.
