This week during our reading activity we have been sequencing our ORT (Biff and Chip stories) book. We read with Mrs Merron on the carpet, we are now reading books with words. It is important to look at the book, looking at the pictures and then using our pointing finger to read the words.
We have been counting how many words in a sentence (some words are short like 'a' and some are longer), making sure we count the words and not the letters. We are starting to use our sight words e.g. Biff, Mum, Dad and our sounds e.g. s, r to read words.
After reading we went back to our tables and sequenced the pictures. We had to make sure they were in the correct order. Start, middle and end of the story. We then tried to do some writing below the pictures. We used the word wall and our phonics sheet to help us. We made sure to include finger spaces between the words and a full stop at the end.
