P.6. Phetpraphai Maths Trail

6th Nov 2017

P.6 Phetpraphai’s mathematicians set out on a maths trail to celebrate Maths Week. We were set maths tasks in teams of six. There were five stations with different questions to complete, from taking down number plates and rearranging the numbers to seeing how many times you could do hopscotch in one minute. We had to use our maths skills including division, multiplication, rounding and place value and apparatus such as trundle wheels, stopwatches, metre sticks, not forgetting our super teamwork and maths brains.

Before each station we had to gather round as a class to discuss what methods and calculations we might use to complete each question. Some questions used a little more thinking time but we completed them all in the end. We took it in turns to answer each question so everyone felt included in the lesson.

To successfully complete our task we had to work well together and help each other solve the questions. We all really enjoyed this maths extravaganza and can’t wait to do it again in the future!
