P1 Merron - CVC words
2nd Feb 2018
We have been working at writing our CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words. We have been using our phonic alphabet to help us sound across the word, looking at the initial sound, then the middle sound and then the finial sound. It can be tricky to stretch the sounds in the word out. It is sometimes easier just to hear the first and final sound. e.g. in the word pin, I can hear the 'p' at the start and the 'n' at the end.
You could practice sounding out CVC words in your house by stretching and squeezing the letters in the word.
