There was great excitement today in St. Bride's PS as our new library Tír na Leabhar ( land of books ) opened its doors for the first time.
We were delighted to welcome our kinds donors, the PTA, Orla Mc Keating ( who recommended diverse books for the library) , David from No Alibis ( who donated books and a print), Julianna ( from the EA Library Service who supported the school ) staff and of course our very lucky , excited pupils.
This was the vision of our two magnificent Literacy Coordinators, Mrs Mackle, Mrs Shankelton and our Librarian, Mrs Mc Hugh who in this National Year of Reading were focusing on READING FOR PLEASURE. This focus included getting families more access to our school library and also developing St. Bride's Library provision.
Their vision has become a reality.
