Swim Ulster Schools' Competition 2022 Bangor Aurora

10th Oct 2022

Congratulations to the St. Bride's children who took part in the gala. For some it was their first gala. Many, who are members of swimming clubs, had PBs. The Girls' Medley Relay came second, winning silver medals. Emma McG made both finals in her individual events and took home the bronze medal. She narrowly missed out on qualifying for Dublin Nationals by under 2 seconds! In the afternoon session, there was some very competitive swimming.Three St. Bride's boys made it to the finals of the 100m Individual Medley. Kai narrowly missed out on bronze. Kai also made it to the finals of the 50m Breaststroke and achieved a PB dropping over 8 seconds. The most important thing is that all enjoyed the day, coming away with a great sense of achievement and the joy from participating in the  Swim Ulster Schools' Gala alongside their friends in St. Bride's. Thanks to the school for supporting the gala and all the parents who helped marshal and time keep. What a team effort. Thank you to the PTA who sponsored the swimming caps. St Bride's team wore them with pride. How professional do they look?
