Marching to the beat was the name of the game in P3 McMahon today. The class listened to 'The Toreadors March' by Bizet and discovered counting aloud in beats to 4. We used our feet to march,stamp and tap the beats. Then,the children marched around the classroom to Sousa's 'Liberty Bell'. Next,the class established a key of loud,quiet and silent noises and came up with their own clapping patterns. We shared our patterns with our classmates who tried them out-Some were very inventive! After that, the pupils performed their own beat patterns. To finish,the class requested we march to the 'Liberty Bell' one last time. A very enjoyable lesson.
