P1 Merron - We are learning to Blend

Recently we have been revising the letters we have learnt already this year. We are able to make the sound of each of these letters and know the name of each letter. We now know some words beginning with our letters, this helps us to remember the sound it makes. E.g. We know that snowman starts with 's' and makes the sound 'ssss'.

We have started to blend our sounds together to make words. We have been stretching and squeezing the letters. We stretch out the word pat to p-a-t (sound out each individual sound), then we squeeze it together to make the word pat (blend the sounds together to say the word).

We have been using white boards to do this. Check us out!! :)
