In class we have been making Number Sentences using 5 cubes.
Mrs McNamee calls out a number sentence for us to create. We have to listen very carefully so we put the correct number first.
If we hear “4 and 1 altogether makes 5” we have to put 4 cubes on the left (as that’s the first number) and 1 cube on the right and show Mrs McNamee. At the start some of us got the cubes the wrong way round but we are getting better every day!
Then we make our own Number Sentence and put the cubes on our card where we choose and then we can tell Mrs McNamee the Number Sentence we made all by ourselves.
Mrs McNamee says we’re getting so good at this that she is going to give us lots more cubes after Christmas and we will be able to make lots of sums!
